Club Notes | Round 13

A very cold day last Saturday as we travelled to the wide expanses of Donvale. The Reserves were a little undermanned and involved in an epic, but low scoring contest. A great 3rd quarter put them in with a great chance of stealing it and the boys piled on the pressure in the last but Donvale were able to hold on for a 2 point win. This is the Reserves first loss for the season and the boys will take some lessons out of the match and be better for the experience whilst still retaining top spot on the ladder.

The Seniors had another slow start and closed the gap at half time but Donvale had a big second half to condemn us to a 10 goal loss. The loss sees us drop to 4th on the ladder and sets up some very important games over the next few weeks. We return to our home ground this week to take on Coldstream and this will now be a vital game as both teams are on equal points and the victor will be a game clear in third spot. To say that a victory is vital to the Zebras is an understatement, but a good win will see us in hot pursuit of a top two finish in the run home.

The Netballers continue their up and down performances in the run to finals with three teams securing every possible result; a win, a loss and a draw. The Green and Zebras sides retain top spot whilst White’s loss sees them fall to 3rd spot but finals beckon for all sides.

This Saturday sees our Sponsors lunch and our Ladies Luncheon is the following week on July 22. Let’s ensure we get as many as we can to those functions and get a great feeling around the club as we make our run to the finals.

Go Zebras!
