Club Notes | Round 7

A big weekend for the club as we celebrated the 300th game and the career of a true legend of the Zebras. Jimmy O’Sullivan played a good game to show there is still life in the old boy and helped the Reserves to a hard fought win over the old foe, Kilsyth.

It was a fantastic day for football but the Reserves took a while to get going. Kilsyth showed they weren’t going to let us have things our own way and kept in touch. When challenged the boys stood firm to get a 10 point win, stay undefeated and still top of the ladder. The Seniors got off to a great start and ensured that by half time it would be tough for Kilsyth to come back. A big win at home ensured we retained the John Clegg Shield. We also gain some momentum in our season and are now only a game from top spot.

Our Netballers had a mixed weekend with Green and Zebras having good wins whilst White went down but all teams are well positioned for a tilt at finals.

Don’t forget to get on the club Facebook page for details on how to book your seat for the 50th Season celebration on June 24th. This is going to be the biggest event on the clubs social calendar in 2017. You must book and places are filling fast.

This week we welcome Surrey Park and their supporters to Zebraland and the prospect of two great games. In the Reserves it’s the battle of the top two sides while Surrey’s Seniors are only a game out of a finals spot. We enter a run of a few big games now and need to make every post a winner. Hopefully a big crowd can cheer us on to two good wins.

Go Zebras!
