Club Notes | Round 6

Last week saw us taking on Glen Waverley Hawks with the Reserves looking to consolidate top spot on the ladder and the Seniors to snap a two game losing streak. We came away from Central Reserve with both wins. The Reserves enjoyed another good win whilst the Seniors had to dig deep and grind out a three goal win. We looked like we would run away with it but our inaccurate kicking and big second half from the Hawks made it a closer finish than we would have liked. We came away with the points and that’s all that matters. Around the club our Netballers continued their winning ways. Two of the sides are top of the ladder and the other sits in second due to the vagaries of the bye.

The $5k draw is always one of the biggest social functions each year and was another big success last Saturday night. The next month will see some big social functions with our Ladies Night on June 3rd and the clubs 50th year celebration on June 24th . Get your tickets now as these functions are filling fast.

This week we welcome our long time rivals Kilsyth to our home ground and we are again competing for the John Clegg Shield. Regardless of how both teams are travelling this is always a great contest and as the current holders we are keen to hang onto the shield.

Our sponsor of the week is Greenlands Fruit and Vegetables. Another long term sponsor we welcome them back onboard for season 2017.

Go Zebras!
