Club Notes | Round 3

Good to see wins by both sides over Nunawading on the weekend.  The Reserves certainly spread the goals around and we could have recorded a bigger win if we had kicked straighter.  The Anzac Round jumpers looked fantastic and were a poignant reminder of why this weekend is so important in our game.

Nunawading showed they have improved and tried to deny us our running style of play, but we stuck to our game plans and despite a few flat patches we recorded good wins.  Our Netballers also had a successful weekend with the White team getting up by 1 goal, whilst the Green side enjoyed a much more comfortable 19 goal win.

With the disruption of Easter now behind us we get into the swing of week to week football and our opponents are a side which many earmarked as finals contenders.  Let’s hope that the weather is kind and we can have a huge home crowd for games where we get to measure ourselves against some competition heavyweights.  The ladders are beginning to take shape and it remains vital we bank early wins to ensure we remain well positioned.

We welcome another sponsor back on board with the Victorian Automobile Chamber of Commerce (VACC) renewing their relationship.  The VACC has been a great sponsor and took it to a new level in 2017 becoming the major sponsor of our Under 14 Girls team. Thanks to Nigel and the VACC for the continued support.

Go Zebras!
