Club Notes | Round 2

Season 2017 got off to a great start with two strong wins over Fair Park.  Individual highlights were Jake Rowe’s 7 goals in the Reserves and Matt Carrnelley’s 5 goals in the Seniors.  Good performances by both sides but we will need to produce at this level every week over the entire season to ensure we give ourselves the best ladder position and the chance of a big assault on finals.

We hope that all the members of the Zebra family had a safe and enjoyable Easter break and the players watched their chocolate intake.  The week off for Easter means we should be fresh as we travel to take on our near neighbours, Nunawading, for the Anzac Day round.  Nunawading have made significant improvements since last year and we will need to be switched on and not take the Lions lightly.  Hopefully, a couple of good wins can help us consolidate the start to the season and get some momentum following the disrupted start.

This week we will be wearing our special Anzac jumpers so it would be great to get as many of our supporters at the ground for this special day on the football calendar and also at the post-match function.  This week our post match awards will be held at the Ringwood RSL with all supporters welcome to attend and enjoy a drink or meal at the bistro.  Let’s support our local RSLs and the Anzac Day appeal over the week.

Go Zebras!
